Hi, my name is Yvonne Teta, and I am running for Delaware Township Tax Collector. I am a 28-year resident of this wonderful community where I raised my four children into adulthood.
My journey began 8 years ago when I decided to run for the position of Tax Collector against the long time resident and past tax collector Marylou Corbett. Although other candidates may be campaigning on the same promises and slogans, my perseverance and commitment to the taxpayers of this township has not changed. I have just taken the next step to ensure you all, that I will be the best Candidate for the job. I am offcially Act 48 Qualifed and tax collector certified with the state of Pennsylvania. Taking this course and exam assures the taxpayers, Municipality, County, School District, and Tax Claim Bureau in the taxing district, that I am competent and certified to run the tax collector office in a professional manner.
I also bring to the table 15 years of Property Management experience. I have been employed with the same management company for 10 years where I work closely with the Community Manager in the day-to-day operations. My daily responsiblities consist of processing residents’ payments, keeping accurate and precise records and sending daily and weekly reports to the main office. I manage the Short Term rental aspect of our HOA which entails receiving several payments daily from the STR properties and posting them to the correct accounts while keeping detailed records of each transaction. I am also the first person to greet and gain a relationship with our residents whether that be in person or over the phone. Building relationships of trust and confidence is key to this role. I intend to take all the aspects of my current position as well as all the information I have obtained from the ACT 48 Tax Collector course and implement that into the tax positon.
PROCESSING ALL PAYMENTS IN A TIMELY MANNER:
Payments whether that be checks, money orders, credit/debit cards or cash will be cashed and deposited within a business day of receiving your payment.
PRECISE AND ACCURATE RECORD KEEPING: Once payment is received, your account will be marked, paid, your account will be posted electronically and paper recordings of all transactions will be kept on file.
ACCESSIBLE TO ALL RESIDENTS:
Once I am elected, I will be implementing business hours to the roll of tax collector. This will help residents with paying taxes on time and receiving payments swiftly. Making sure residents who are unable to make it out to my office will be accommodated with their best interest at hand. Building relationships and open communication with the taxpayers is key to a successful tax position.
IMPLEMENTING CREDIT CARD SYSTEM:
I will implement a system for the taxpayers to pay their tax bill by credit card and automatic ACH through their checking account.
I am asking all of Delaware Township residents to support my campaign and get out and Vote May 20th. I am on the Republican Primary Ballot, but as a tax collector, I will be working for all the taxpayers of this district. You can also write my name in on either ticket. Thank you all!
